Besides Royal Jordanian, more than 20 international air carriers fly into Queen Alia International Airport located 35 km south of Amman. The flying time from the major European cities is about four hours.
The earliest way to get to downtown Amman from Airport is by taxi; the Journey takes 30-45 minutes, the fare is about 12JD which is equivalent to around $ 17. However, shuttle buses to the city centre bus station also available, leaving the Airport every half-hour.

 

 

Travellers may enter Jordan overland from:   
Syria: From Nasib into Jabber or from Dera'a to Ramtha.
Israel: In the north at Sheik Hussein crossing; and in the south at   Wadi Araba which connects Aqaba and Eilat.
Palestinian National Authority: North of the Dead Sea via the King Hussein / Allenby bridge.

 

 

Travellers arriving from Egypt can use the daily ferry or the speedy catamaran. The trip is between Nuweiba, in Egypt, and Aqaba in Jordan.

The Hijaz Railway train runs twice a week between Amman and Damascus on the same track that was built by the Ottomans at the beginning of the 20th century. The train may be also hired for special events and banquets. Please contact Hijaz Railway for further details and reservations.
